The home and its staff have a key role to play in supporting service users to live fulfilling lives outside, as well as within the home. Through an in-depth assessment of service users comprising individual care plans and assessments we assign a member of staff, the key-worker, to take responsibility for each resident’s welfare and support. We review these plans regularly to assess how the resident is progressing. Is the resident happy, what can be done to improve things and what does the resident want to do to lead a more fulfilling life.
We also believe in regular and effective communication with family members and friends. This can include visits away from the home as well as encouraging parents and relatives to visit as often as possible, or join in activities.
